Joe Devito

Joe Devito brings 35 years of experience in the US power industry. Joe started his career as an electrical engineer for the United Illuminating Company, designing distribution, transmission, SCADA and relaying systems and conducting project management. Upon liberalization of the northeastern US power markets, Joe became heavily involved with the establishment of wholesale electric market design, RTO formation, electricity trading and open access transmission, leading the regulatory, political and media relations teams of NRG Energy, FPLE and other IPPs. In these roles, Joe led all regulatory legal and political initiatives at RTOs, state commissions, state and federal legislative arenas and FERC.Joe transitioned to renewable energy project and business development in 2006, leading development, acquisition, divesture and marketing of projects on behalf of RES Americas across a 24-state footprint.
During his tenure with RES Americas, Joe and his teams developed over 2,000 MW of wind, solar and battery storage projects, of which over 1,100 MW (about $2.3 billion) of assets is currently operational.
Joe holds a BSEE in electrical engineering, specializing in power systems from Worcester Polytechnic (WPI): including Advanced Power System Engineering from PTI and management training from Cornell University and UK Naval Academy.
