Joe DeVito – President and CEO
Joe is a seasoned executive with over 28 years of experience in the US power industry. Over his career, Joe and his teams developed over 2,000 MWs of wind, solar and battery storage projects, of which over 1100MWs (about $2.3Bn) of assets is currently operational. Joe transitioned to renewable energy project and business development in 2006, leading RES’ efforts in the development, acquisition, divesture and marketing of RES Americas’ projects across a twenty four state footprint and into the Caribbean. Joe holds a BSEE in electrical engineering, specializing in power systems from Worcester Polytechnic (WPI): Joe also has taken Advanced Power System Engineering from PTI, and management training from Cornell University
Kaya Tarhan – Chief Development Officer
Kaya brings 20 years of experience developing energy projects in the U.S. and Internationally. Most recently, founded Bridge-Rock Inc, developing solar projects in the North East U.S. and Turkey with an international solar developer in commercial industrial distributed solar. Previously, Mr. Tarhan served as Development Director of the Turkish operations of Renewable Energy Systems Ltd. (RES), a leading global renewable energy company and a subsidiary of Sir Robert McAlpine Mr. Tarhan earned his B.A. in International Relations from the University of Minnesota, where he earned international credits while in Izmir, Turkey at the University of Maryland. Mr. Tarhan holds an advance degree from the University of Phoenix, Graduate School of Business, Phoenix, Arizona, with a Master of Business Administration in Energy Management, Magna Cum Laude.
Daniel Enderton – Chief Operating Officer
Daniel has nearly 10 years of experience as a project developer, entrepreneur, and energy company executive. Most recently, Daniel founded and ran A-Sharp Energy, a software company that provided a Kayak.com-like shopping tool for community solar subscriptions, and subscriber billing platform. Daniel earned a PhD in Climate Physics and Chemistry from MIT, while also serving at President of the MIT Energy Club and Content Director of the MIT Energy Conference. He received BA degrees in Physics and Math from the University of Minnesota – Morris
Gordy Simanton – Marketing & Project Development
Gordy has more than ten years of experience in the wireless telephone industry. He was on the leading edge of introducing and developing the first cellular phone technology in the State of Minnesota. Since joining SolarStone in 2015, Gordy has been involved in all aspects of project development for 14 Minnesota solar projects, across 11 counties with a total portfolio comprised of 72 MW’s of renewable energy.
Jeff Bertch – Business Development
Jeff has over 25 years of experience in leading edge technologies, focusing in the areas of Digital Media, Online Recruitment, and Enterprise Software. He understands the true value of new technologies and the positive changes it can bring to the market. Since joining SolarStone in early 2017, used his experiences to develop a marketing strategy, targeting large Commercial and Industry (C&I) users of electricity. In 2018, tapped to lead the land acquisition phase within Illinois’s Community Solar Program (2MW-4MW). Presented to landowners long-term solar lease opportunities, and the merits of diversifying land revenue. Involved in the permit process with local Planning/Zoning and County Boards for approval. As a team secured 94MW of projects, fully permitted and agreements with utility interconnection, submitted to the Illinois Power agency site lottery. Mr. Bertch earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota, with a Minor in Statistics.
